It all started with this video:

And then there were a few CDs in my mailbox.

The story behind this is fairly simple, really. After watching that video for the 100th time, I thought I should find out a bit more about the band behind that song, Super Butter Dog. I watched a couple of videos of them on Youtube, caught interest, end eventually ordered some of their CDs.
Their music is some awesome mix of funk, rock and pop. First time I find myself liking funk, heh! It’s great.

So… I got their ラ (Ra) album, which is a live album. I only found it out when I first listened to it, and suddenly the Ra made sense: look at these pictures…

I also made sure to get Funkasy and grooblue too.

I wanted Funkasy because of Communication Breakdance (the song of the first video)…

…and Funky Oolong Cha, a pretty catchy and funky tune. Weird, but funny PV, inspired by Kill Bill I guess xD

PRAISE THE FUNKY OOLONG CHA!!

Only one song was enough to make me get grooblue: Sayonara Color. I love that song.

If you like this music, go and order the CDs from amazon.co.jp or cdjapan.com! NOW!! They’re definitely worth it.

And don’t bother searching on Tokyotosho or Share or Perfect Dark, you won’t find anything. Seems SBD isn’t that popular overseas.

As far as I know, they disbanded after their Ra album, but it seems they’re now back on track with another album, Super Better Better Dog. I will get that one someday, too.

Forgot to mention, I found their rather unknown (or perhaps even rare) Inu ni Kuwaesasero/Disco Dancer CD on eBay Germany, new, for almost nothing. Awesome.

Did I mention that I hate those damn shipping&handling costs??
